Apcalis-SX Oral Jelly 20 mg is a replacement (Genericum) for Cialis. It contains the same active ingredient tadalafil as Cialis.
Dosage:
The recommended starting dose is 20 mg before sexual activity. Apcalis jelly is intended for internal use. The sachet is taken whole and washed down with a small amount of water. Apcalis can be taken regardless of food intake. You can take a sachet of Apcalis anytime 20 minutes to 12 hours before sexual activity. However, Apcalis jelly may work for up to 36 hours after ingestion. It is important to note that Apcalis does not work without sexual arousal. You need to engage in foreplay with your partner in the same way that you would not take medication to treat erectile dysfunction. You must not take Apcalis more than once a day. Daily use of Apcalis is not recommended.
Apcalis-SX Oral Jelly 20 mg should not be taken:
If you have low blood pressure or untreated high blood pressure – If you are allergic (hypersensitive) to tadalafil or other substances in Apcalis (listed at the beginning of this leaflet) – If you take organic nitrates in any form or substances that lead to the formation of nitric oxide, e.g. Amyl nitrite is a group of medicines (‘nitrates’) used in the treatment of angina pectoris (‘chest pain’); Tadalis has been shown to enhance the effects of these medicines; if you are taking nitrates in any form or are unsure, talk to your doctor – if you have sickle cell anemia (a red blood cell disorder), multiple myeloma (bone marrow cancer), leukemia (blood cancer), or penile deformity – if you have a serious liver or kidney disorder.
Caution is needed when taking Apcalis:
Sexual activity poses a possible risk to patients with heart disease because it increases the burden on the heart. If you have heart problems, you must bring this to the attention of your doctor. Apcalis may not be suitable for you for the following reasons. If any of these reasons apply to you, consult your doctor before taking the medicine:
Taking other medicines:
In general, you must always tell your doctor if you are taking or have recently taken any medication, even over-the-counter medications, because medications taken together may interact with each other. This is especially important if you are taking nitrates, as you must not take Apcalis while you are being treated with these medicines. Also, do not take Apcalis together with other medicines, as your doctor will warn you about. Apcalis must not be taken in combination with other medicines to treat erectile dysfunction.
Side effects:
These effects are usually mild to moderate. The most common side effects include headache and indigestion. Less common side effects include back pain, muscle pain, swelling of the nasal mucosa, facial redness, and dizziness. Rare side effects include swelling of the eyelids, eye pain, and increased blood supply to the conjunctiva (redness of the eyes). If you experience any of these side effects that bother you, are severe or do not go away, tell your doctor. Allergic reactions (including skin rashes) may also occur. In rare cases, prolonged and possibly painful erections may occur after taking Apcalis. If you experience an erection lasting more than 4 hours, you must see a doctor immediately. If you develop chest pain during or after sexual activity, do not take nitrates under any circumstances, but seek medical attention. If you experience any side effect while taking Apcalis that is not listed in this leaflet, tell your doctor.
